    ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. HONNDALSTAUSENE is a norwegian folk music group of seven female fiddlers. In many ways they started the "young female wave" of folk music in Norway, and they have played at lots of dances and concerts both in Norway and all over Europe. They also have won several prices and awards for their music. Their repertoire has predominately been passed down to them from female tradition-bearers. All seven group members have female fiddlers among their ancestors. The tunes are polished and freshened; arrangements are appropriate to the new millenium. HONNDALSTAUSENE, "the wenches of Hornindal", means creativity, lush, vigorous appeal and flirting with tradition. With a consistently vital musical expression. These women know their folk music, and they know how to make old gold shine. The result is free forms, with unmistakable character and an elegant feminine touch.
